Welcome

The Biomechanics and Motor Performance Laboratory (BMPL) is a multi-purpose research and teaching center, housed in the College of Health Professions, located at the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences. Under the direction of Assistant Professor Yunju Lee, PhD the lab’s vision seeks excellence in research and teaching biomechanics and motor performance of human movement. Our mission is to use mechanical principles in testing static and dynamic conditions to discover, disseminate and use knowledge concerning the biomechanics of normal and pathological human movement throughout the lifespan. The BMPL is equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software that permits the analysis of strength performance, movement analysis, muscle selectivity, and dynamic and static balance. Faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students, from physical therapy, movement science, and engineering use a collaborative research model.
